It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother Angela June Houghton, (Walker), nee I’Anson on December 31st 2025 in her 86th year after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s. Angela passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her family at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas. Angela was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK on June 9, 1939 to Clifford and Florence I’Anson. Angela is predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth Houghton. Dear sister to Pauline (John) Crabtree, and to the late Derek (Beryl) I’Anson. Loving Mum to Simon (Debbie) Walker, Steven Walker and Jane (Rose) Walker. Stepmother to Alison (Doug) Anderson. Beloved Grandma to Gary and Ryan Walker, Mary and Michael Walker-Davey; also survived by several great grandchildren. Angela, Kenneth and family immigrated from the UK to Canada in 1978, settling in Dundas, where Angela worked for the Town of Ancaster as executive assistant to Mayor Bob Wade. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service to follow. A dedication in Mum’s loving memory will take place at a later date. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at Wentworth Lodge and specifically the staff on Beech Avenue for all their care and compassion over the years. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Mum’s family physician, Dr. James Williams, for his continued care throughout. Donations in Angela’s memory would be gratefully accepted at the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
