Paddon, Paul Douglas “Doug”
Suddenly at his home in Dundas on Saturday, October 28, 2023, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Marjory (2013) and loving father to Paul (Cindy), the late John (2019) (Mina) and Melissa Dawson (Greg). Grandpa/Poppa to his 5 grandchildren: Noah, Rachel, Jack, Oliver and Miles. Sadly missed by his sister Nancy Smith (Michael). Doug was a serial entrepreneur, founder of Paddon Paper Supply, the Copetown General Store, Grey Goose Antiques and Willow Works; he was a Charter Member of the Copetown Lions Club, long time member of Copetown Woodchippers and volunteer with Dundas Real McCoy’s. When not working events with the Lions Club, Doug could be found at his favourite place, his cottage in Port Elgin, among family and friends. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the Copetown Community Centre on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 from 1-3pm, with a Service and Memories at 2pm, and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton General Hospital Foundation or Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
Deepest Sympathy on behalf of the congregation at Copetown United Church. Doug was a real character who enriched the life of our community of faith. He will be deeply missed.

I knew Doug from playing baseball with Marj and then through the Dundas McCoys. He always had a bigger than life smile and laugh. R.I.P. Doug. Condolences to Melissa and families
I had the good fortune of meeting Doug in the pool at our apt. Bldg. He was the type of guy one had an instant rapport with. Several times he would come to our apt. and just shoot the breeze. What an interesting gentleman he was. We will miss him dearly. Deepest condolences to his family. Carl and Judi.
In deepest sympathy to you all. Melissa, Rachel, your Dad and Grandpa was always kind, warm and welcoming from our earliest days as childhood friends. He was a constant presence who was always busy, enterprising and exploring new ventures and taking risks. He lived a rewarding life and you were all central to his life. May you carry on with his spirit and zest for life.
My deepest sympathy to his children and grandchildren. I met Doug many years ago curling at the Victoria Club in Hamilton, where his dad and mom also curled.
My sincere sympathy to Doug’s family. Many fond memories of yesteryear when my hubby, Eddie, and I shared with Doug our mutual interest of buying/selling antiques and being involved in the auction business. Will never forget his jovial personality and lust for life.
My sincere condolences to the family. Doug became a great friend after
meeting in 2020 at Woodchippers. I immediately admired his genuinely
unique character. Naturally charismatic, witty, generous and kind. His
energy, enthusiasm and positivity was inspiring. I dearly miss my wonderful friend.
What a wonderful man always a smile he reminded me of Santa Claus that twinkle in his eye. Dundas Lions were always a favorite sponsor at Delta Bingo it was my pleasure to be a runner, Nevada (Balls) seller and caller for them. What a great group. So very sorry for your loss.
Sincere condolences from The Ingersoll Lions Club
