LESTER, Ames, Alfred – 1931 – 2016. Passed away in his sleep February 1, 2016 in his 86th year.  Predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years Marjorie (2003).  Dad leaves behind his daughter Sharon Stewart (Jim), his son Ed (Debie) and his grandchildren Alison (Mike), Laura (Chris) and Mark.  Dad was a long time employee of International Harvester.  He started out with IH as a teenager, apprenticing as a mechanic, and retired from IH at 65 as a truck service supervisor.  He was a quiet man and a people-watcher, content with his own company and activities. Thank you to the many healthcare professionals who were involved in dad’s ongoing care – he was fortunate to have you.  Thank you also to the staff at Dundas Retirement Place for making Dad’s last year a comfortable and pleasant one.  After years of health challenges he’s finally at rest.  Cremation has taken place.  In keeping with Alf’s wish, there will be no visitation or service.  For those who wish to, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
