Dear Shannon, Mark & Family
Such tragic news. Zac will be missed dearly and always remembered. He was trying to teach me how to shoot the puck – all of us were amazed at how he could shoot the length of the ice in goalie gear, and as hard as Big Al! Being Zac’s back-up goalie for years I got used to looking at the dressing room door hoping he would show in time. He would usually show in time for the first whistle and get changed faster than any goalie ever. What a great team of friends… I will never forget you Zac.
Shannon, Mark and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this extremely difficult time.
Shannon, Mark, Bert, Sylvia, and extended family, please accept our sincere condolences on Zac’s sudden passing. While we haven’t seen each other in some time, I’ve many fond memories of our get togethers in the kids’ younger years, many of which Zachary was an important part. May these same memories, and many others, guide you through this sad time, and keep him in your heart forever.
Steve, KC, George, and Susan Duric, and Bert Ravn.
Dear Shannon, Mark & Family,
I cannot imagine any pain more severe than that suffered by you at this time. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Shannon, Mark and family,
We were so shocked and saddened by this terrible news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
I never met anyone who showed anything but love for Zac. It pains me greatly that I have been living on the other side of the country for the last year and a half, and did not get to spend more time with him. Our last times together, over the Christmas holidays of last year, definitely weren’t dull. They never were. I wish I could be there in person to feel his presence one last time. But hey, with all of the people who loved and respected him, I probably wouldn’t even fit.
I’ll see ya on the other side buddy.
Dear Shannon Mark & family;
We are all so sorry to hear of your loss. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers xoxo

Shannon and Mark.
I have nothing to say that can help much. Zac was an amazing young man. The world has lost a kind soul who was well loved. My heart breaks for you and the rest of Zac’s family. I’ll always remember that little grin he gave me when I hacked at his glove when he covered the puck or when he stopped a shot I was sure I’d put in the net. I ‘ll be thinking of all of you and remembering Zac.
Our sincere condolences to you and your family. We remember Shannon and Isabella telling us at the indoor soccer tournament in London about your family. Shannon; you were beaming talking about all your children. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

Shannon, Mark and Family
You have our deepest sympathies. Please know, that we are thankful to have known Zac. He was a friend to our son Mike and a loving, caring young man to our daughter Candice. During the months we spent with Zac he loved to share family anecdotes. Whenever he spoke about you, which he did often, Shannon, Mark, Brenden, Isabella, Kara, Nana and Papa….he would literally light up with love and pride. He touched our hearts with his love for his family and how important that was to him.
Forever in our thoughts.

My oldest friend, roommate, goalie… wish I could be there. No matter what we went through you were always there for me. It is a special type of friend you can go 4 months without talking to and know that as soon as you see each other again it feels like it was yesterday. Starting from sitting beside each other in grade 2 at Greensville learning we had the same middle name – ZEB & JEB; to meeting each other on our bikes at the end of Paddy Greene going to Anc. Sr.; playing hockey with just the two of us for an hour when we had time at the quad and you beat me; all the way to having you there help pack up my kitchen where we used to (try to) cook together… had a lot of great memories, talks and learning experiences that will never be forgotten. I love you and will forever miss you.
Shannon, Mark, Brenden, Kara, Isabella,
It pains me I am not able be there. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your son/brother was one of the most amazing, caring and compassionate people I have ever been lucky enough to have in my life.

Dear Shannon, Mark and family. My sincere condolences and heartfelt sorrows on your lose… Zac, I will miss you my friend. You were a great teammate and an amazing person. It was truly an honour to play along side you these last few seasons. Whether we won or lost, you were a consummate competitor in net, always unshaken, completely tranquil, and the same irrepressible, smiling, jovial young man in the dressing room. I do know that somewhere, in the vastness of whatever lies beyond, Zac is smiling down at us and wishing us well. You will NEVER be forgotten.

May the love and support get you through these default days may you all keep the great memories in your hearts of the great time you all had with ZAC.
Our group of friends is pretty amazing. So often do people marvel at that fact that some of us have been best friends since our sandbox days! We really all became close at Ancaster Senior and Ancaster High. And after life took us in different directions, we’ve stayed close through sports, university parties, travels, Christmas gatherings … the list goes on. Zac was always down for a good time and had an energy about him that was contagious. Zac was a good friend to us all. I can remember him lighting up when he spoke about his family – he was so proud of his siblings and all they were up to. Sending cross country love to Zac, his family and our friends.
Shannon and family my sincere condolences to you. Zac impacted many lives with his smile, the days of working with him were always with a smile. Your fondest memories will bring peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Such a tragic loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
To the Bentley & Gerritsen Family, I am truly sorry for your loss.
Zac had the most contagious smile that made my day so much better just seeing him and I really do think he had a heart of gold. I’m very happy let alone grateful that I knew him, he’ll always have a special spot in my heart and he will be truly missed.
My thoughts are with you through this difficult time.
I love you Zachary Bentley! Xo!
It feels like just yesterday Zac was making fun of me at the gas station for driving a Ford. His laugh & smile still the same from when I met him for the first time, So big and so warming. I remember babysitting your amazing siblings with you and how amazing you were with them and how much you loved them, i remember my one friend saying “are those his kids?” And I just giggled and said no he is just such an amazing brother. Then there’s the time we went to your cousins wedding, needless to say you were THE BEST dancer out there lol and your family was so warm and welcoming i knew that’s where you got your charm from. Your mom and mark just seemed to be the happiest people all the time I was around and you always talked about how you loved your mommy and it always made my heart warm. My deepest condolences goes out to your mom, mark and your siblings, I can only imagine what they are going through right now. You were an amazing guy and I know you will be looking down on everyone up there buddy, so save us all a comfy seat we will see you soon <3
Some people you meet in life stand out from others because they are able to bring laughter, fun, and happiness wherever they go. As I’m sure I can speak for all of his friends, Zac was definitely one of these people. While I’ve been friends with Zac since Ancaster Senior, we became much better friends over the past couple years. Zac was one of those friends that no matter what was going on, he was always ready to have a good time and was always bringing a smile to those around him.
Zac was an amazing friend and he is going to be extremely missed by so many people. It’s tough being so far away at a time like this but I’m sending my thoughts from England.
So very sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you all at this time.
Shannon, Mark, and family,Mike and i are sending our deepest condolence to you all at this very difficult time. God seems to take the good ones to soon. Shannon, as a mother who has lost a child [Jennifer] I’m sending you a special prayer and hugs. Diane
