Of Dundas, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Villa in her 96th year. Born on April 27, 1925 she is predeceased by her parents Murray and Grace Crockett, and by her brother Jim and sister-in-law Barb. A genuine person, she was someone who dearly loved and treasured her family and friends throughout her life. She enjoyed and was fulfilled by her career as a Special Education teacher with the Hamilton Wentworth School Board for many years. As someone who cheered for the underdog, fought for the marginalized, loved all creatures great and small, she shared what she had with those in need. She will be missed by many, remembered by those whose life she impacted, and welcomed by those she loved who have gone on ahead. We celebrate her life, and are thankful she was in ours. Private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers it was her wish that donations be made to the Hamilton Burlington SPCA, Doctors Without Borders, or Amnesty International. A memorial service will be held in her honor when the time comes that we can gather together again.

Aunt Pat’s life is an example of a life well lived. I’m going to miss her and treasure a lifetime of countless memories.

I will never forget her love of animals. Family dinners packing up leftovers for her to take home to them. ❤

Both my brother and myself have many great memories of Pat and her dad Murray mostly surrounding the tomato canning factory that was next door to us. Our mother did the books for the factory. We remember Pat as a strong person just like her dad. When our dad passed away, she was very supportive for our mother.

I am so sorry to hear that one of my biggest heroes has died. Miss Crockett was my grade three teacher in 1962.

I was blessed to meet her once again at the villa and had a lovely conversation with her. Amazingly enough almost sixty years later she remembered me. I had some unique health issues that created problems at school and she was the first to recognize it and take the bull by the horns. She really saved me.
The world has lost a true champion for the underdog.
You fought the good fight. Rest well knowing you did your best.
Just found this notice. Pat and my deceased husband, Dave, were 1st cousins. Their dads, Murrey and Chic were brothers . I remember many visits in St Petersburg, FL. Dave, kids and I also visited her in Hamilton. She was a great lady.
