Kennett, Kathleen Margaret – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Margaret Kennett (nee Hay) in her 90th year, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Born in Farnham, Quebec, Kathleen was the daughter of Newton and Margaret Hay. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years Terence James Kennett (2013). Sadly missed by her children David (Jill) Kennett, Karen (Clint) Cooper and Terry Kennett, grandchildren Jennifer, Julie and Matthew and step grandson Ryan (Michael). Kathy loved lazy summer days around the pool with family and friends at her Dundas home. She will be remembered for her kindness and warm smile. She had a wonderful zest for life and truly enjoyed each and every day. She had a great passion for music, singing and dance. Special thanks to The Meadows in Ancaster for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Interment and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Terry and I would like to offer our most sincere condolences on the loss of Kathy. We have many cherished memories of her and Terry, whether it be at a gathering of friends, attending music concerts, or a variety of other settings. She was a great friend with a delightful sense of humour, was thoughtful, and a pleasure to be with. She will be missed by all those who knew her.

Dear Kennett Family:
This will be a hard time for you all; losing a parent is always a sad event. Kathy was always very proud of her family – and you were good kids, and easy to be proud of! The obituary in the paper was very nice indeed. We recalled the many wonderful times we had with your Mum and Dad, at your home, our home, and occasionally elsewhere, and Kathy’s delightful laugh so frequently heard. We are looking forward to her Celebration of Life, and Norm and I wonder if at that time we could say a few words to honour the almost-sixty years of the Kennett and Archer families’ friendship. We would appreciate it, and we promise not to be long-winded. However if that doesn’t fit into your plans we will understand.

You were Kathy’s pride and her joy. She adored her husband Terry, her children, and her grandchildren. She was consistently kind to everyone, and saw the best in each and every one of us. Kathy had a wide-eyed wonder for her world, and found fun around every corner. “Don’t let it be forgot that once there was a spot – for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.”
