After an amazing life, lived to the fullest, passed away peacefully September 14, 2017, one day short of her 97th birthday. Beloved wife of George B. (Barney) Portsmith. Predeceased by her first husband Arthur Strauch. Loving mother of Marolyn Cook and David and Marnie Strauch. Predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn McGill and sons-in-law Donald McGill and Bruce Cook. Very special Grandmother of Sandy, Allen (Erin) and Rob (Julie) Cook; Jeff (Jen) Strauch, Amy (Paul) Ksiazek and Sherry LaFrance. Adored Great-Grandma of Ethan Cook, Ethan and Peyton Emmett, and James and Emily Ksiazek. Kay outlived her siblings: Doris Killman, George Alton and Marg Alton. Kathryn was a long-time member of Copetown United Church. Kay will be remembered for her extraordinary creative talents. Her paintings, quilts, hooked rugs, carvings and knitting will continue to be enjoyed by all her family and friends. Kay lived most of her life smiling, enjoying it all and left with no regrets. Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Dundas, on Sunday, September 17 from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. A memorial service will be held at Copetown United Church, 2218 Governor’s Road, Copetown, on Monday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. Donations to Copetown United Church or a charity close to your heart would be greatly appreciated by the family.
