September 25,  1948 – December 24, 2018

With heavy hearts, on Monday December 24, 2018, in his 70th year, we said goodbye.Beloved husband of Linda, loving father of Karen (Rick), Cheryl (Jeff), Susan (John),  grandfather of Jordan, Andy, Brian, Curtis, Arwyn and Owen. Much loved by his siblings Carol, Allen (Marjolaine), Leonard (Rebecca) and many nieces and nephews.  Previously deceased by his brother Kenny and his parents James and Della. Phil will be remembered by all as a man with a great sense of humour and desire to entertain others. He was a comedian until the end, referring to his time at the hospital as “Hotel General.” We are incredibly thankful to the wonderful staff at Hamilton General Hospital 4West and CCU for the care and compassion shown to him.  A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday December 30th at the Hamilton Police Association (555 Upper Wellington St, Hamilton, ON) between 2-4pm if you would like to join us in a tribute to him. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Cardiac Care Unit of Hamilton General Hospital.

A lifetime ago ( 54 years) in Greenfield Park , Phil was my friend , as I lived around the corner from his house. Army cadets leader, top local goalie with a taste for good music ( first of the DJ type , buying the records) he was my inspiration and admired by my Dad too. He could talk to anyone and knew how to present himself well, loved his Mom. A few fine years have stuck with me forever. To his wonderful family I express my deepest sympathies and may his memory remain deep in your hearts.
