April 14, 1924 – November 24, 2018
Mohoruk, Margaret, long time resident of Dundas, Ontario, died on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Villa. She was 94. She was born Margaret Sinka on April 14, 1924 in Hamilton, Ontario. She had a successful career as an administrator at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the picture above was taken upon her retirement in 1991. Margaret married Nicholas John Mohoruk and together they had three sons, Gregory Mark, Nicholas John and Terrance Gary. Gregory and his wife Joette Cantafio, Nicholas and his wife Lynda Waine, and Terrance were all at Margaret’s bedside when she passed peacefully in her sleep at the Villa. Margaret is survived by her sons and her grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Mohoruk, Loren Mohoruk, Aleksandar Sebestyen Mohoruk and Conrad Theodore Mohoruk, and her great-granddaughter Isabel Grace Goulding. She was predeceased by her husband, Nick in 1997. As per Margaret’s wishes there will be no visitation nor memorial services. Margaret will be interred at the St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Dundas, Ontario. Memorial donations may be made in Margaret’s name to the St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation.

I have such fond memories of this wonderful lady. She was a good friend of my parents and a member of the ladies card club with my mother. Always kind and welcoming. I especially remember sitting down and devouring a piece of her multi-level chocolate cakes as a kid. Spent much time at her house playing on the ice rink in the yard with my childhood friend Terry. Always felt welcomed by both her and her wonderful husband Nick. Sincere condolences to Terry, Nick and Greg and the entire Mohoruk family on your loss. May she rest in peace!

As a member of the cousins who dearly loved your Mother I wish to express my condolences and love to you Greg, Nick, Terry, and the entire Mohoruk family. Your Mother was a great lady, always regal, loving and welcoming with a table laden with her famous home cooking, often more than enough for anyone who happened to drop in, along with beautiful music playing in the background. Her door was always open. Aunt Mauggie was the one responsible for many of my memories of happy family get togethers from Windsor, to Dundas and then Mississauga. She used to come and visit me at fortinos on main street with an I love you and hug and kiss. She would smile and smell like her sister Grace whom was my grandmother. I will miss her and remember her for how she loved her family, always proud of them in all what they do. Aunt Margaret was the last of a beautiful and noble generation, her and Uncle Nick were the salt of the earth. Our deepest condolences go to all her boys and their wives and children and grand and great grand children. She will forever be loved and missed by us little John and wife Pam Kratz.

I was so saddened to hear of aunt margarets passing. I have fond memories of aunt margaret and uncle nicks famous christmas parties, open to all family and friends . I was sincerely grateful to their weekly visits to Highgate moms retirement home, she so looked foreward to those visits. My thoughts and prayers go out to my cousins Terry Nicky Greg and their families . Know that someone so special can never be forgotten.

Marg was part of my life for 50 years. I will always remember amazing dinners, Christmas events, generous gifts, and great food. She was always interested in my travels and continued to follow my adventures on email well into her 90’s. An amazing woman. Her grand children and I will greatly miss her.
